TED2013: The Young. The Wise. The Undiscovered. Live Streaming!
Join other Purdue students to watch a live streaming of the annual TED conference. Held in Long Beach, California, the annual TED conference will highlight the world’s leading thinkers and doers. This year’s talks feature speakers such as musician and blogger Amanda Palmer, environmentalist and futurist Stewart Brand, graphic artist and director Martin Villeneuve, and violinist Ji-Hae Park.
From the TED.com:
“After a year-long search for the world’s most exciting unheard voices … and an unprecedented number of suggestions from the global TED community on the speakers who matter most right now … we proudly present the speaker line-up for TED2013: The Young. The Wise. The Undiscovered.
This line-up features the largest number of speakers in TED’s history — more than 70. That’s because many of the talks this year are shorter. Often 12 minutes or less, instead of 18. And nearly half of the program comes from our first-ever global talent search. Events were held in 14 cities around the world and attracted thousands of applicants, including some truly astounding youngsters.
Bringing them together has created a fast-moving program covering an incredible variety of topics. At the same time we’ve been able to drill deep on some of the biggest issues the world is facing. For example, the opening session features a major debate on a question puzzling economists, one with huge implications for all our futures. And the final day digs into fundamental questions of identity, spirituality and legacy. This will be a thrilling journey. We can’t wait to go on it with you. Welcome to TED2013: The Young. The Wise. The Undiscovered.”
